Launched in October 2024 and supported by \u20ac90 million in EU funding under the EU4Health Programme, the network aims to ensure that, by 2030, 90% of eligible cancer patients across the European Union have access to high-quality prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care through certified Comprehensive Cancer Centres (CCCs).\n\nBringing together 163 institutions from across 31 countries, EUnetCCC is building a structured and sustainable European network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres. By testing and implementing a common EU certification scheme, the initiative seeks to recognise excellence, connect centres, and foster the sharing of expertise, resources and best practices. This inclusive framework strengthens national cancer systems while helping to reduce inequalities in access to care and ensuring high-quality services closer to patients\u2019 homes.\n\nAt the heart of the project are three main objectives:\n\n\t\u2022\tDriving excellence in care through an inclusive certification framework that enables equitable access to high-quality cancer care across a pan-European certification ecosystem;\n\n\t\u2022\tEmpowering centres by strengthening capacity for sustainable quality improvement, enhancing expertise, infrastructure, and long-term resilience in cancer care and research across all regions; and\n\n\t\u2022\tAdvancing cancer care and research through joint initiatives and collaboration networks, fostering an interconnected community that accelerates innovation, continuous improvement, and shared progress.\n\nWithin this European effort, the University of Luxembourg contributes expertise in collaboration with national partners involved in oncology. Their engagement reflects Luxembourg\u2019s commitment to strengthening oncology care nationally while actively integrating into the broader European cancer ecosystem.\n\nTogether with its national partners, the University of Luxembourg contributes to efforts aimed at:\n\n\t\u2022\tImproving access to high-quality oncology care and reducing inequalities for patients;\n\t\u2022\tFacilitating the integration of innovative diagnostic tools, advanced therapies, and translational research into clinical practice; and\n\t\u2022\tPromoting the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices across Europe.\n\nThrough this engagement, the Luxembourg consortium \u2014 bringing together key actors involved in oncology in Luxembourg \u2014 is helping lay the foundations for the development of a Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Luxembourg. This effort aims to ensure equitable access for patients to innovative treatments and the latest advances in cancer research.
