Two possible jointing methods were envisaged and investigated to accomplish the structural requirements. The possible influence of external parameters, such as temperature, humidity or UV-radiation, on their uniaxial tension\/compression and shear behaviours was evaluated with the help of statistical methods applied on the results of Taguchi design of experiments tables. With the invariance of the silicone properties, a new hyperelastic quasi incompressible constitutive material law accounting for the quasi-static and post Mullins effect behaviour was developed and validated with finite element analyzes of the small-scale experimental tests. The UV-acrylic was however found strongly dependent on the loading rate and one-dimensional models were suggested to describe the quasi-static tension and shear behaviour under specific rates. In reason of the poor long-term properties of the UV-acrylic, only the silicone was regarded for the construction of the two types of composite beams. Pre-evaluations issued from numerical simulations including the developed material law accommodated perfectly with theoretical data and approached the large-scale tests results by considering the manufacturing operations conducted on the steel beam. \n\nResearch Assistant: Vincent DIAS \nPhD-Thesis Title:  Development of adhesives constitutive material laws for the assessment of bonded steel to glass partial composite beams \nPhD-Thesis URL: http:\/\/hdl.handle.net\/10993\/12399 ","rp_start_date":"2009-12-01 15:30:59","rp_duration":48,"rp_main_funder":"ArcelorMittal","rp_other_funders":[],"rp_external_partners":[],"rp_keywords":[],"rp_members":[{"name":"Christoph ODENBREIT","isPI":true,"isExternal":false,"featuredImageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/person-image\/NTAwMDI3NzhfX0NocmlzdG9waCBPREVOQlJFSVQ=","detailsPageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/blog\/people\/christoph-odenbreit\/","id":"50002778"},{"name":"Vincent DIAS ","isPI":false,"isExternal":true,"featuredImageUrl":"","detailsPageUrl":"","entity":"University of Luxembourg until end of the project"}]},"research-project-status":[],"research-project-type":[271],"field-of-interest":[287],"organisation":[51,47,29],"authorship":[135,131,106,218,348],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches\/11457"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/core-researches"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/135"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches\/11457\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":11459,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches\/11457\/revisions\/11459"}],"wp:authorship":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/135"},{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/131"},{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/106"},{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/218"},{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/348"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/11458"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11457"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"research-project-status","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/research-project-status?post=11457"},{"taxonomy":"research-project-type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/research-project-type?post=11457"},{"taxonomy":"field-of-interest","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/field-of-interest?post=11457"},{"taxonomy":"organisation","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/organisation?post=11457"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
