various excursions. These excursions are free of charge, but some may only take place with a minimum or maximum number of participants. Pre-registration for these excursions is mandatory and will be possible during the conference registration process. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guided visit to urban regeneration of Belval (2 hours)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Dr. Markus Hesse (University of Luxembourg) will be your guide through the Belval site, which is one of the most important post-industrial urban projects in Luxembourg. It was initially chosen by the state to create a research and knowledge center, including the university and related institutions. The 125-hectare site, located on the territory of the municipalities of Esch-sur-Alzette and Sanem, is being developed both by the State (in charge of the Cit\u00e9 des Sciences) and by a joint venture between the State and the former landowner, Arcelor Mittel. Once completed, Belval will be home to up to 25,000 employees, 7,500 students and researchers, and 8,000 residents. By 2024, about 65 percent of the total development was completed and almost 90 percent of the floor space was sold. The tour offers the opportunity to visit some of the key components of the area, including the library, the renovated blast furnace, the train station and P+R facility near the French border, and the residential area in the northern part of Belval. Expected start time: 14h, expected end time: 16h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agora.lu\/belval\/?lang=en\">here<\/a> for more information about Belval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guided visit to Hauts Fourneaux in Belval (2 hours)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Find out more about the workings of the only Blast Furnace in Luxembourg that is open to visitors. Deep in the heart of this impressive enclosure, the guide will explain to you the process used to manufacture cast iron and steel. During the visit, you will climb to a height of 40 metres (to the viewing platform) from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the City of Science, the new neighbourhood of Belval and its remarkable contemporary architecture. This excursion will only take place with min. 20, max. 25 participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guided visit to CFL Logistics in Dudelange (3 hours)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A bus will take you from Belval to Dudelange to visit CFL logistics, a subsidiary of CFL multimodal. CFL logistics offers warehousing, road transport, freight forwarding, and custom services. After a welcome presentation explaining the activities of CFL logistics, you will visit the Intermodal Terminal of the Eurohub South site in Dudelange.
