The programme at a glance – 180 ECTS
Presentation
Students develop competencies in perioperative nursing practice, infection-risk management, clinical reasoning, and surgical technical assistance through theoretical courses, clinical education, tutorials, and interprofessional simulation activities.
Learning experiences take place in operating theatres, surgical care units, and hospital clinical environments, enabling students to understand the organisation of perioperative care and the role of the specialised nurse within surgical teams.
The programme is delivered by the Department of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences in collaboration with nursing science academics and healthcare professionals working in surgical settings.

Strengths
Academic training in surgical medical technical assistance
This Bachelor supports the development of advanced nursing competencies grounded in nursing science and specialised clinical practice. The programme promotes evidence-based practice in surgical care processes and contributes to patient safety.
Innovative education
This programme combines theoretical training using innovative and interactive methods with practical training in hospital and out-of-hospital care environments. Simulation laboratory training shared with other disciplines is also included.
Support service
The Bachelor in Nursing Sciences also offers the possibility to be accomanied by a mentor throughout the study programme.
