Research Group Individual and Collective Reasoning (ICR)

Logic, Argumentation and Norms

The Individual and Collective Reasoning (ICR) group’s goal is to develop and investigate comprehensive formal models and computational realisations of individual and collective reasoning and rationality.

Our Research Group

ICR is an interdisciplinary research team concerned with the development and investigation of formal and computational models of individual and collective reasoning and rationality in the context of AI. The focus is on the logic-based foundations of AI. The group, led by Leon van der Torre, was founded in 2006 by Leon van der Torre and Emil Weydert and is anchored in the Lab for Intelligent and Adaptive Systems (ILIAS) of the Department of Computer Science (DCS). It counts among the major players in its research community.
