Maria Pavlou is a Research Scientist at the University of Luxembourg, within the Department of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences.

Dr. Pavlou is the Deputy Study programme Director of the Bachelor in Medicine and the Study Programme Director of the Certificate in Hospital and Healthcare Management (Certificat en management pour le secteur hospitalier et de la santé). Dr. Pavlou received in 2011 her PhD fellowship from the CEDAD-IMPRS-MBM (today known as CiM-IMPRS) joint graduate program, run by the university of Münster and the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine.
Work experience
Between 2011 and 2015, Dr. Pavlou worked as a PhD student at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine in Luxembourg. She was a postdoctoral researcher at the University Medical Center Göttingen, from 2016 until 2017 and at the Department of Life Sciences and Medicine from 2018 until 2019.
Educational background
Dr. Pavlou obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Athens in 2009, her Master of Science in Developmental Cell Biology at the University of Sussex in 2010, and her PhD in Biology at the University of Luxembourg in 2015, being a member of the PhD programme for excellent graduate students, CEDAD-IMPRS-MBM.
