Assist. Prof Jun PANG

Jun Pang is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Luxembourg.

His research interests are broad and multidisciplinary, encompassing formal methods, security and privacy, machine learning, systems biology, and complex networks. He is a senior member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and serves on the editorial board of several international journals including Science of Computer Programming and PLOS Complex Systems.

He is and has been the (co-)director of several teaching programmes within the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine. Furthermore, he teaches a variety of courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Through the collaboration with private and public sectors, he contributes to the dissemination and application of research beyond academia. Being a member of ACM’s Europe Technology Policy Committee (ETPC), he contributes to discussions that influence policy-making and the broader impact of computing research on society.

Previously, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at INRIA and Ecole Polytechnique in France and as a scientific staff member at the University of Oldenburg in Germany. During his PhD studies, he worked as a junior researcher at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in The Netherlands.

He received his PhD degree in Computer Science from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in The Netherlands.
