Prof Alex REDINGER

Alex Redinger is a full Professor in the Department Physics and Materials Science at the University of Luxembourg. He is head of the group Surface and Interface Physics.

The research of Alex Redinger is focused on unraveling the surface properties of semiconductors used in solar cells. Scanning probe microscopy, X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy and luminesence methods are used to develop detailed models of surface and interfaces, which has allowed to develop better solar cells. Alex Redinger published so far 88 scientific papers. Since 2017, five PhD students graduated under his supervision.

Currently, Alex Redinger teaches the solid state physics course and the science communication course in the master of physics program.

In 2016, Alex Redinger received an FNR ATTRACT consolidator grant, which allowed him to build up his own research group at the University of Luxembourg. Furthermore he received an outstanding publication award in 2014.
