On this occasion, 270\u00a0000 \u20ac have been raised to finance research against paediatric cancers. In particular, the University of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) will continue the research project about the exposure of pesticides and its link with paediatric cancers.<\/p><p>In 2018, the University of Luxembourg and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lih.lu\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH)<\/a>\u00a0decided to join their forces to better understand how pesticides affect human health and develop strategies to circumvent the deleterious effects of pesticides. The research project \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/fstm\/actualites\/what_is_the_link_between_cancer_and_pesticides\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Effects of pesticides on the gut and their role in cancer development<\/a>\u201d was selected for funding by the <a href=\"https:\/\/fondatioun.lu\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Kriibskrank Kanner Foundation<\/a> in the framework of the first L\u00ebtz Go Gold charity run.<\/p><p>A year later, the first results are encouraging. \u201cAll methods and models important to the success of the project have been established.
