{"id":2041,"date":"2023-01-17T07:17:09","date_gmt":"2023-01-17T07:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/website.prod.unilu.spikeseed.cloud\/fr\/news\/prestigious-horizon-europe-grant-for-prof-francesco-viti\/"},"modified":"2023-01-17T07:17:09","modified_gmt":"2023-01-17T07:17:09","slug":"prestigious-horizon-europe-grant-for-prof-francesco-viti","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fr\/news\/prestigious-horizon-europe-grant-for-prof-francesco-viti\/","title":{"rendered":"Prestigious Horizon Europe grant for Prof. Francesco Viti"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\"><p>ACUMEN (<strong>A<\/strong>i-aided de<strong>C<\/strong>ision tool for seamless m<strong>U<\/strong>lti<strong>M<\/strong>odal n<strong>E<\/strong>twork and traffic manageme<strong>N<\/strong>t), a project Associate Prof. Francesco Viti of the Department of Engineering at the University of Luxembourg has contributed to, has been awarded the prestigious Horizon Europe Grant.<\/p><p><strong>About ACUMEN<\/strong><\/p><p>ACUMEN proposes a generic, <strong>privacy-preserving, data-driven modular digital paradigm<\/strong> for advanced network management, which aims at <strong>enabling efficient and reliable door-to-door journeys for people and goods<\/strong>, increased safety and resilience at the network level, and to make a critical contribution to achieving the transport goals set forth in the <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/strategy-and-policy\/priorities-2019-2024\/european-green-deal_en\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">European green deal<\/a>.<\/p><p>AI-powered digital tools supporting mobility management and decision-making will be developed by leading academic and research partners, in close cooperation with global industry partners and stakeholders.<\/p><p>The <strong>\u20ac5 million project will involve 21 partners from 8 countries<\/strong> (7 EU countries and Switzerland) and will be coordinated by Aalto University (Finland). As work package leader, the University of Luxembourg, and more specifically the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mobilab.lu\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">MobiLab Transport Research Group<\/a><\/strong> of <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/recherche\/fstm\/doe\/members\/francesco_viti\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Prof. Viti<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/fstm\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine\" rel=\"noopener\">Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine<\/a>, will play an important role in the implementation and management of pilots and demonstrators within the project.<\/p><p>The ACUMEN consortium has been formed to address a combination of technical and implementation challenges to develop and successfully launch the project as a solution for policy makers and stakeholders in transport.<\/p><p>On receiving the grant, Prof. Viti said, \u00ab\u00a0<i>I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work on this exciting project and to have been able to acquire such important funding.
