The new Master in Technopreneurship: \u201cMastering smart ICT, standardisation and digital trust for enabling next generation of ICT solutions\u201d officially started in February 2021 with 12 students. This two-year, part-time programme will train future leaders in the field of smart ICT.<\/p>

The Master in Technopreneurship (MTECH)<\/a> will enable students, by means of their internship in collaboration with a company, to transfer smart secure ICT knowledge directly into technical innovation, using the competitive and innovative tool of technical standardisation.\u00a0<\/p>

Representatives from the University of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Lifelong Learning Center (LLLC)<\/a> and the Luxembourg Institute of Standardisation, Accreditation, Safety and Quality of Products and Services (ILNAS)<\/a> welcomed the first group of students at the Chambre des salari\u00e9s (CSL)<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>

MTECH Course Director Prof. Pascal Bouvry<\/a>\u00a0gave a warm welcome to the selected students for this first roll-out of the Master in Technopreneuship. He highlighted that the Master was the fruitful outcome of two iterations of the Smart-ICT certificate that served as a proof-of-concept. Prof. Bouvry then emphasised the practical aspect and potential of real impact of the Master thesis that will put into practice what will be learned during the academic part of the cursus, coupled with standardisation and business aspects.\u00a0<\/p>

During his introductory speech, Dr. Jean-Philippe Humbert<\/a>, ILNAS Deputy Director and MTECH Course Director, thanked the partners who made this Master possible and reminded the audience that this Master is the first of its kind in the world. In his own words: \u201cThe economy of the future will be based on smart ICT; we are already seeing this now with the advent of cloud computing, AI, the IoT, blockchains, and all these technologies\u2019 supporting cybersecurity and trust. The key question is how to leverage these adequately to foster growth, and our answer here, with this diploma, is that mastering principles of technical standardisation and digital trust is actually an excellent launchpad for business innovation, for enterprises of all sizes.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>
