Yet this movement reflects not so much a France split in two as a multiplicity of territorial interdependencies. Though a stable analytical framework has yet to be formulated, having some perspective on some caricatural ideas is a first step towards a better understanding of the dynamics and stakes of the current uprising.<\/p><p>Aur\u00e9lien Delpirou is a lecturer at the \u00c9cole d\u2019Urbanisme de Paris (Paris School of Urban Planning, part of Universit\u00e9 Paris-Est Cr\u00e9teil) and a researcher within the Lab\u2019Urba laboratory (also based at Universit\u00e9 Paris-Est). His work deals with the territorialisation of sustainable urban mobility policies in Europe, especially in Rome and Paris.
