Digital Medicine integrates digital tools such as wearable sensors, smartphone applications and clinical decision support algorithms into healthcare procedures. The new chair for Digital Medicine focuses on translational research to develop smart patient-centred technologies. Parkinson’s disease serves as an ideal model to assess innovative digital medical devices and integrate them in multidisciplinary healthcare procedures in Luxembourg and beyond.About the speakerProf. Dr. med. Klucken is developing digital health concepts for Luxembourg through a joint research programme supported by an FNR PEARL Chair, involving the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) of the University of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) and the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL). He was previously a principal investigator leading the group of digital health and sensor-based movement detection within the Department of Molecular Neurology at the University Hospital Erlangen. His main focus is Parkinson’s disease and he is conducting translational research studying novel mHealth technologies as diagnostic tools serving as objective biomarkers for the disease. "}
