\u00ab\u00a0Different facets of educational inequality in Luxembourg \u2013 Findings and Perspectives from the National Educational Report\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>

Abstract:\u00a0Like the earlier National Education Reports, the Report 2021 describes the Grand Duchy’s education system as a whole and takes an analytical look at selected key topics \u2013 in 2021 \u00ab\u00a0digitalisation\u00a0\u00bb and \u00ab\u00a0education for sustainable development\u00a0\u00bb. Whilst addressing selected key topics in each volume, the report also tackles the \u00ab\u00a0big issues\u00a0\u00bb characterising Luxembourg’s education system, such as educational inequalities. The Report brings together contributions from a variety of disciplines (pedagogics, psychology, linguistics, sociology, etc.). Our presentation will primarily focus on the different facets of educational inequality. In sum, the socio-economic and linguistic background of students continues to have a large impact on their competencies and school careers. A synopsis of different articles shows the extent in which educational inequalities by socio-cultural background can be identified in different dimensions and at different points in the trajectories. The Report 2021 generated a set of debates opening on future research on diversity, inclusion, skills, and the reduction of inequality.<\/strong><\/p>

Whilst addressing selected key topics in each volume, the report also tackles the \"big issues\" characterising Luxembourg's education system, such as educational inequalities. The Report brings together contributions from a variety of disciplines (pedagogics, psychology, linguistics, sociology, etc.). Our presentation will primarily focus on the different facets of educational inequality. In sum, the socio-economic and linguistic background of students continues to have a large impact on their competencies and school careers. A synopsis of different articles shows the extent in which educational inequalities by socio-cultural background can be identified in different dimensions and at different points in the trajectories.
