Hands-on insights and direct conversations with researchers, this was the experience offered by the University of Luxembourg\u2019s youth research team<\/strong><\/a> at the Foire vum Jugendsecteur<\/em>, hosted by the Service National de la Jeunesse (SNJ)<\/a> on the 7 October in Luxembourg City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held at Campus Geessekn\u00e4ppchen, the fair (also known as the Foire vun der Jugendaarbecht<\/em><\/strong><\/a>) is an annual event that brings together professionals dedicated to working with, and for, young people in Luxembourg. From youth centre staff and counselling services to youth initiatives, sector administrators, and researchers, the fair serves as a key meeting point. It\u2019s a valued platform for sharing updates on upcoming youth-policy events and long-term policy developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University\u2019s youth research, coordinated through the Centre for Childhood and Youth Research (CCY)<\/strong><\/a>, is a well-established part of the youth \u201csector\u201d in Luxembourg. Closely connected with practitioners, the team showcased current projects including the Youth Report 2025<\/strong><\/a>, HBSC studies<\/strong><\/a>, and the Youth Survey Luxembourg (YSL)<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interest in youth research was high. This year, many CCY researchers took the opportunity to share their findings with the public, making complex data accessible through engaging formats. A standout feature of the youth-research booth was an interactive quiz based on the <\/a>Youth Survey Luxembourg dat<\/strong><\/a> (a representative and standardised survey of young people in Luxembourg aged between 12 and 29).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors also learned about the University\u2019s study programmes, especially the Bachelor en Sciences sociales et \u00e9ducatives<\/em><\/strong> (BSSE)<\/strong><\/a>, and ongoing research projects supported by the Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019\u00c9ducation nationale, de l\u2019Enfance et de la Jeunesse (MENJE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next opportunity for youth researchers to share insights in the field will be during the Assises de la jeunesse<\/em><\/strong><\/a> on 27 November 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n
