\nSkilled Actions and\r\nIntellectual Thought<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Abstract<\/strong>:
In his new book, Peter Carruthers (2023) argues against intellectualism about know-how\u2014the view that know-how is entirely reducible to knowledge of facts. In this talk, I argue that his arguments at times border on uncharitable, and that they can be strengthened. I close by considering what an intellectualist might say about the capacity of large language models to solve certain commonsense\/relevance issues that plagued classical AI.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n
