\nTrue barometer of the state of youth in Luxembourg, the survey “Health and Behaviour in School-aged Children,” conducted every four years by the University of Luxembourg, invites you to the presentation of its latest results in the presence of the Ministers of Health and Social Security, and of Education, Children and Youth<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The youth in Luxembourg are not doing well. This is the sad conclusion of the latest four-year report “Health and Behaviour in School-aged Children,” published by the Center for Childhood and Youth Research at the University of Luxembourg in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Security, and the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Luxembourg, in 2022, less than one in three young people rated their quality of life as high. Even more concerning, the gender gap has widened, it is the largest since 2006, with girls being the most affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loneliness, obesity, and the consumption of harmful substances are all rising indicators among young people aged from 11 to 18 in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The breakdown of social and family structures, as well as the well-known issues related to social media use, are among the possible explanations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time, the report also focused on non-cisgender adolescents. 3% of secondary school students identify as such. The results concerning them are not more encouraging; they report worse levels of well-being than their cisgender peers. Want to learn more and better understand the reality of youth in Luxembourg?
