The project\u2019s objectives included the creation of a series of professional development workshops, pedagogical kits based on the workshops to borrow free of charge, and inspirational resources of STEAM-based classroom practices. The professional development workshops are integrated into the Ministry of Education\u2019s system of continuous education, which supports actions and activities that engage in-service teachers with the goal of updating and enriching their pedagogical practice.\n\nSTEAM approaches fit very well with early childhood education, in that the holistic focus aligns with young children\u2019s inquisitive, complex and embodied ways of meaning making.  Children are born curious, each day they actively engage in inquiring and making sense of the world. Why do worms have no legs? Can we climb the rainbow? Where do hedgehogs sleep? Children ask questions, think, discuss, and investigate. STEAM supports children in their investigations and explorations, while fostering their creativity and problem-solving skills.\n\nEarly childhood STEAM education is important and helpful, but the question is how can a teacher practice it? The SciTeach Center\u2019s goal is to support teachers in promoting STEAM by offering professional development workshops that are not only designed for teachers, but also co-planned and co-taught with teachers.","rp_start_date":"2022-11-15 09:44:00","rp_duration":38,"rp_main_funder":"Fondation Veuve Emile Metz-Tesch","rp_other_funders":[" "],"rp_external_partners":["IFEN (Institut de Formation de l'Education Nationale)"],"rp_keywords":["Early childhood","STEAM","education","professional development"],"rp_members":[{"name":"Christina SIRY","isPI":true,"isExternal":false,"featuredImageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/person-image\/NTAwMDMxMDVfX0NocmlzdGluYSBTSVJZ","detailsPageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/people\/christina-siry\/","id":"50003105"},{"name":"Sergei GLOTOV","isPI":false,"isExternal":false,"featuredImageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/person-image\/NTAwNjUxOTlfX1NlcmdlaSBHTE9UT1Y=","detailsPageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/people\/sergei-glotov\/","id":"50065199"}]},"research-project-status":[271],"research-project-type":[528],"field-of-interest":[283],"organisation":[165,147],"authorship":[416],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches\/32915"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/core-researches"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/416"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches\/32915\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":32921,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches\/32915\/revisions\/32921"}],"wp:authorship":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/416"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=32915"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"research-project-status","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/research-project-status?post=32915"},{"taxonomy":"research-project-type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/research-project-type?post=32915"},{"taxonomy":"field-of-interest","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/field-of-interest?post=32915"},{"taxonomy":"organisation","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/organisation?post=32915"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
