SUMMARY:The digital generation: Insights into children and young people’s everyday digital lives and the importance of the digital ecosystem
DESCRIPTION:Abstract\n\nWe have a good deal of research on digitalisation in schools, digital learning technology, and the risk behaviours of children and young people online. At the same time, we know very little about children and young people’s everyday digital lives and how technology helps shape their lives and the importance of the digital ecosystem. The “digital generation” is the generation of children and young people who have not experienced a world without the internet, smartphones or social media. The DigiGen project aimed to understand how technology affects children and young people both at school and in family relationships, in their leisure time, and in their digital participation in society. This presentation provides insight into how children and young people understand these different ecosystems and how the boundary between them is not as clear as before. DigiGen sees children and young people as co-researchers and thus important contributors in defining where we are going with the research, what is important for them in the future and what are the crucial issues concerning the use of digital learning technology in their everyday lives.\n\nAs the number of places is limited, registration is mandatory by 9 December.\n\nRead more: https://www.uni.lu/fhse-en/events/the-digital-generation-insights-into-children-and-young-peoples-everyday-digital-lives-and-the-importance-of-the-digital-ecosystem/
