He previously <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/universite\/actualites\/latest_news\/la_bulle_du_marche_de_l_art_a_eclate\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">correctly predicted a bubble<\/a> in the in the post-war and contemporary art markets and has developed a comprehensive annually published art market index for Germany\u2019s <i>manager magazin<\/i>.<\/p><p>In one of his latest papers, Prof. Kr\u00e4ussl and a team of co-authors provided empirical evidence that works by female artists sell for significantly lower prices than those by male artists. A series of two experiments showed a significant correlation between works of art being attributed to women and the lower prices these works of art fetch at auction.<\/p><p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/papers.ssrn.com\/sol3\/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3083500\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Is Gender in the Eye of the Beholder? Identifying Cultural Attitudes with Art Auction Prices<\/a>\u201d was presented at the Yale Symposium by Prof. Kr\u00e4ussl\u2019s co-author, Prof. Ren\u00e9e B. Adams (UNSW Sydney, Australia), and discussed with <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/recherche\/fdef\/df\/people\/julien_penasse\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr Julien Penasse<\/a>.<\/p><p>Prof. Kr\u00e4ussl meanwhile joined a panel including Prof. Jonathan Feinstein (Yale School of Management) and Megan Fox Kelly (President of the Association of Professional Art Advisors) on \u201cBuilding Collections, Pursuing Passions, and Moving Markets\u201d.<\/p><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/som.yale.edu\/event\/2018\/03\/yale-symposium-on-art-and-gender\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Yale Symposium on Art and Gender<\/a> was organised by the Yale School of Management\u2019s International Center for Finance on 29 March 2018.
