{"id":82,"date":"2018-03-27T15:13:35","date_gmt":"2018-03-27T15:13:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/website.prod.unilu.spikeseed.cloud\/fdef-fr\/news\/are-infrastructure-investments-worth-it\/"},"modified":"2018-03-27T15:13:35","modified_gmt":"2018-03-27T15:13:35","slug":"are-infrastructure-investments-worth-it","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-fr\/news\/are-infrastructure-investments-worth-it\/","title":{"rendered":"Are infrastructure investments worth it?"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\"><p>Prof. Roman Kr\u00e4ussl presented his research on \u201cInfrastructure as an Investable Asset\u201d at the National Bureau of Economic Research\u2019s \u201cEconomics of Infrastructure\u201d conference in Massachusetts, USA.<\/p><p>The conference was organised by researchers from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and brought together academics from Canada, the UK and the US as well as analysts from US think tanks and government agencies.<\/p><p>The research presented by <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/recherche\/fdef\/df\/people\/roman_kraeussl\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Prof. Kr\u00e4ussl<\/a>, Assistant Professor Aleksandar Andonov (Erasmus University Rotterdam), and Prof. Joshua D. Rauh (Stanford University, Hoover Institution) investigates the characteristics of <a href=\"http:\/\/papers.nber.org\/conf_papers\/f104988\/f104988.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">infrastructure as an asset class<\/a> with a special focus on the perspective of institutional investors who gain exposure to infrastructure assets, primarily as limited partners in infrastructure fund vehicles.<\/p><p>By analysing a unique data set of more than 3,300 infrastructure projects, the research team was able to measure and study differences in financial performance across different types of institutional investors.
