The programme was designed for finance professionals with an interest in art acquisition but also curators, art dealers and high-net-worth private collectors.<\/p><p>The inaugural edition includes a group of 16 participants who completed the first part of the programme \u2013 a one-week study stay at the University of Luxembourg and a visit to TEFAF art fair in Maastricht \u2013 in March. In June, the group will complete the second part of the programme, including one week of studies at Christie\u2019s Education and visiting the world\u2019s largest cross-collecting fair, Masterpiece London.<\/p><p>The schedule in both Luxembourg and London has been rounded out with visits to galleries, museums, networking opportunities, and more.<\/p><p>\u201c\u2019Owning and Investing in Art\u2019 is just the executive education I had been looking for \u2013 a great variety of topics covering different aspects of the art market. I immediately put into practical use many of the tools I gained during the first half of the course in Luxembourg. Discussions with participants from different corners of the world were a huge bonus,\u201d said Ritva V\u00e4\u00e4n\u00e4nen, Managing Director at the Rafaela and Kaj Forsblom Foundation. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to more inspiration and insights in London.\u201d<\/p><p>The programme was initiated and directed by Prof. Roman Kr\u00e4ussl (Luxembourg School of Finance) who specialises in alternative investments and is a recognised expert in art as an asset class. \u201cArt is a growing market worldwide and Luxembourg has the knowledge and infrastructure to play a big role in this new niche. By teaming up with Christie\u2019s Education, we were able to bring an outstanding partner into this project and pool our expertise from an academic and practical point of view.\u201d<\/p><p>The programmes was organised in cooperation with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iuil.lu\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Luxembourg Competence Centre<\/a>, which manages lifelong learning activities at Uni.lu.
