Torremans (University of Nottingham), both distinguished experts of copyright law in Europe.<\/p><p>Dr J\u00fctte defended his dissertation \u201cReconstructing European Copyright Law for the Digital Single Market\u201d in 2016. It was published by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nomos-shop.de\/J%C3%BCtte-Reconstructing-European-Copyright-Law-for-Digital-Single-Market\/productview.aspx?product=28371\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Nomos<\/a> last year. In his work, Dr J\u00fctte provides a short history of EU copyright law, as well as thoroughly analysing the EU\u2019s approach to copyright in the digital age within an international context. Most importantly, he proposes how to improve the functioning of the EU copyright system.<\/p><p>His efforts were lauded by Prof. Hoeren in an online <a href=\"https:\/\/rsw.beck.de\/cms\/?toc=mmr.120&#038;docid=398613\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">review<\/a> of the journal \u201cMultimedia und Recht\u201d. \u201cIt was a pleasure to read J\u00fctte\u2019s doctoral thesis,\u201d he writes [own translation], complimenting its European outlook and ambitious goals. The thesis, he concludes, \u201cdeserves great respect and deep admiration.\u201d<\/p><p>Thesis supervisor, Prof. Mark D. Cole, also receives an honourable mention as an excellent \u201csparring partner\u201d for Dr J\u00fctte\u2019s ideas. \u201cOne can only congratulate the Luxembourg Faculty of Law,\u201d Prof. Hoeren writes.<\/p><p>Another review, by University of Notthingham professor Paul L.C. Torremans and published in the renowned Common Market Law Review (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kluwerlawonline.com\/abstract.php?area=Journals&#038;id=COLA2018139\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Issue 5, 2018<\/a>), praised Dr J\u00fctte\u2019s \u201cin-depth scientific analysis\u201d, concluding that the dissertation is \u201cessential reading for all those who have digital creativity, flourishing creative industries and an efficient, certain, well-balances and systematically structured EU copyright system at the heart of their interests.\u201d<\/p><p>Following the completion of his doctoral studies at the University of Luxembourg, Dr J\u00fctte joined the University of Nottingham as a post-doctoral researcher.
