In addition, students were able to benefit from a <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/universite\/actualites\/latest_news\/welcome_new_students\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">range of activities<\/a> organised through the University of Luxembourg, the Office of Student Life, and various student associations.<\/p><p>The Course Directors had a few surprises in store for the new arrivals, in particular. Students from the Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation were given a <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/recherche\/fdef\/dem\/news_events\/special_welcome_for_mei_students\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">tour of the House of Entrepreneurship<\/a>, an initiative of the Chamber of Commerce, to gain first exposure to the country\u2019s start-up ecosystem. The Master in Economics and Finance meanwhile hosted Dariush Yazdani, a Partner at PwC, who offered an introduction to the Luxembourg asset management industry, one of the country\u2019s financial centre\u2019s strongest pillars.<\/p><p>Students from the Master of Laws (LL.M.) programmes were treated to a panel discussion with data protection activist Maximilian Schrems whose law suit against Facebook for data protection violations led to the dismantling of the EU-US Safe Harbor Agreement.
