{"id":162,"date":"2018-07-04T12:48:36","date_gmt":"2018-07-04T12:48:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/website.prod.unilu.spikeseed.cloud\/fdef-fr\/news\/ll-m-students-to-benefit-from-new-partnerships\/"},"modified":"2018-07-04T12:48:36","modified_gmt":"2018-07-04T12:48:36","slug":"ll-m-students-to-benefit-from-new-partnerships","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-fr\/news\/ll-m-students-to-benefit-from-new-partnerships\/","title":{"rendered":"LL.M. students to benefit from new partnerships"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\"><p>The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) has signed new partnerships with the ESSEC Business School and the European Parliament offering new opportunities for students in four of its Master of Laws (LL.M.) programmes.<\/p><p>The partnership with the European Parliament, signed on 26 June, cements a cooperation between the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/formations\/fdef\/master_en_droit_et_contentieux_de_l_ue_ll_m\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Master en Droit et Contentieux de l\u2019Union Europ\u00e9enne<\/a> and the European institutions in Luxembourg. The content of the Master is enriched with elements related to the European Parliament\u2019s role and mission, and provides a framework for the participation of its practitioners in the teaching of a number of the programme\u2019s courses. In addition, internships will be offered to several students in their second year within the parliament\u2019s legal department.<\/p><p>\u201cStudents in this Master will benefit from unsurpassed integration of the European Parliament but also the Court of Justice of the European Union and the EFTA Court into the design of their course of study,\u201d explained Course Directors Prof. Eleftheria Neframi and Prof. Herwig Hofmann. \u201cThis is an exceptional programme and our location right next to the European institutions in Luxembourg City is an invaluable asset for our students.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cFormalising the cooperation with the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance was a logical next step in our ongoing partnership,\u201d added Freddy Drexler, Jurisconsult, head of the parliament\u2019s legal department. \u201cThese students are the next generation of legal professionals. We are proud to support them through this programme and offer new and exciting opportunities to the brightest young talents in the field.\u201d<\/p><p><strong>Double degree option with ESSEC<\/strong><\/p><p><strong><figure class=\"wp-block-dev4-reusable-blocks-image  object-fit--contain\">\n    \n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-image unilux-custom-image-block\"\n                alt=\"\"\n            src=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2023\/07\/essec_in_text_medium.jpg\"\n                srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2023\/07\/essec_in_text_medium-300x213.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2023\/07\/essec_in_text_medium-1024x727.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2023\/07\/essec_in_text_medium-768x545.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2023\/07\/essec_in_text_medium.jpg 1500w\"\n                style=\"object-position: 50.00% 50.00%; font-family: &quot;object-fit: contain; object-position: 50.00% 50.00%;&quot;; aspect-ratio: 4\/3; object-fit: contain; width: 100%;\"\n        loading=\"lazy\"\n\/>            <p class=\"wp-block-dev4-reusable-blocks-image-caption\">\n            Prof. Viviane de Beaufort with the Dean, Prof. Katalin Ligeti and professors Werner Haslehner, Pierre-Henri Conac and Isabelle Riassetto        <\/p>\n    <\/figure><\/strong><\/p><p>Under a new cooperation with prestigious international business school ESSEC, students from three LL.M. programmes (<a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/formations\/fdef\/master_en_droit_bancaire_et_financier_europeen_ll_m\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Droit Bancaire et Financier Europ\u00e9en<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/formations\/fdef\/master_en_droit_et_contentieux_de_l_ue_ll_m\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Droit et Contentieux de l\u2019UE<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/formations\/fdef\/master_in_european_and_international_tax_law_ll_m\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">European and International Tax Law<\/a>) will be able to apply for fast-track admission into two of the school\u2019s Master programmes.<\/p><p>Up to four graduating students from the University of Luxembourg are guaranteed to be invited for admission interviews to \u00a0ESSEC\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.essec.edu\/en\/business-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">MSc in Management \u2013 Grande \u00c9cole<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.essec.edu\/fr\/programme\/masters\/ms-droit-des-affaires-internationales-et-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Mast\u00e8re Sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 Droit des Affaires Internationales et Management<\/a> (Advanced Master), provided they meet the programme entry requirements. In return, ESSEC graduates from these Masters will equally benefit from admission into the three designated Uni.lu LL.M. programmes.<\/p><p>\u201cThe double degree option gives the best of our students the chance to gain an additional qualification from one of the finest business schools not just in France but worldwide,\u201d explained Prof. Pierre-Henri Contact and Prof. Isabelle Riassetto, who initiated the agreement at Uni.lu. \u201cGraduates will benefit from the knowledge, strength and experience of two universities, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cThe University of Luxembourg is emerging as a top destination for highly-specialised LL.M. programmes. The exchange of Master-level students will enrich the learning experience on both sides.
