This pursuit of \u00ab\u00a0smartness\u00a0\u00bb has posed new constitutional and political challenges that need to be addressed. This lecture reflects on the question \u00ab\u00a0smartness to whom?\u00a0\u00bb and whether governments can, and should, be smart at all.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"speakers\"\n    >\nSpeakers<\/h3>\n<p><ul class=\"ulux-list\"><li class=\"ulux-list-item\"><strong>Paul De Hert<\/strong> is a professor of law at the Faculty of Law and Criminology of Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He is the Director of the research group on Fundamental Rights and Constitutionalism (FRC) and a senior member of the research group on Law, Science, Technology &#038; Society (LSTS).
