\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-wrapper \">\n        <p>Andr\u00e9 PR\u00dcM is  at the University of Luxembourg since 2005 where he holds the Chair in Financial and Business Law. <strong>Professor in law<\/strong> <\/p><p>He served as  of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg for seven years until 2012 building it up to become the largest faculty of the university. <strong>founding Dean<\/strong> <\/p><p>In June 2014, the University Laval, Qu\u00e9bec-City, Canada awarded him an  \u201cfor his outstanding contribution to legal science as well as his leadership in university management\u201d.\u00a0 <strong>honorary doctorate<\/strong> <\/p><p>He is regularly invited as visiting professor, most recently by Columbia Law School in New York, the Universit\u00e9 Laval in Qu\u00e9bec, the European University Institute in Florence, the University of Paris I Sorbonne and the University of Paris II Panth\u00e9on-Assas. Qualified as French Law professor (Professeur agr\u00e9g\u00e9 des Facult\u00e9s de droit de France), he held, before joining the University of Luxembourg, a position at the University of Lorraine (1995-2005).<\/p><p>Andr\u00e9 Pr\u00fcm\u2019s research areas focus on . He is the author of several books and publishes regularly on those topics in European and international legal journals. <strong>banking and financial law, company law and corporate governance, contract law, Luxembourg law, European and transnational commercial law and arbitration<\/strong> <\/p><p>During the last twenty years, Andr\u00e9 Pr\u00fcm has been strongly involved in the modernization of Luxembourg\u2019s legal infrastructure. The government of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg requested him to prepare major reforms of Luxembourg business law leading in particular to a complete overhaul of company law, the introduction of the law on securitization, the first law on electronic commerce, a law on trusts and fiduciary contracts as well as a reform of competition law.<\/p><p>Andr\u00e9 Pr\u00fcm is regularly requested to issue legal opinions on Luxembourg, French and European law and to serve as an arbitrator in international and national litigations.<\/p><p>Andr\u00e9 Pr\u00fcm has constantly been involved in the management of universities and research institutions acting for ten years as director of the Laboratory of Economic Law, a research department of the Centre de Recherche Public Gabriel Lippmann; chairing the Centre de Recherche en droit priv\u00e9 of the University of Nancy 2 (1998-2005) and serving on the boards of the Faculty of Law of the University of Paris XI (1993-1996) and of the Faculty of Law and Economics of the University of Nancy 2 (1998-2003).<\/p><p>He is a board member of the AXA group insurance companies in Luxembourg, Credit Suisse ( Luxembourg), Kneip Communications SA and Cluster Management SA.. He previously held a management position at the Banque Paribas\u2019 International legal department (Paris) and was a managing partner of a law firm in France. He is a member of several learned societies and serves as a President of the \u201c section des sciences morales et politiques\u201d of the Institut grand-ducal.<\/p><p>Andr\u00e9 Pr\u00fcm (born in 1961) is a Luxembourg national.
