Cole, was invited to speak at the 2021 Council of Europe&#8217;s\u00a0European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO) Spring conference which took place digitally on 11 February 2021.<\/p><p>With an audience of over 600 viewers, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.obs.coe.int\/en\/web\/observatoire\/home\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">EAO<\/a> conference united experts and industry stakeholders to examine the proposed Digital Services Act Package and its implications for the delivery of online content in Europe, addressing the question: what will the consequences of this new modernised legal framework be for the audiovisual sector?\u00a0<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/fdef\/departement_droit\/people\/mark_cole\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Prof. Cole<\/a> spoke in detail about the mechanisms whereby the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act, coupled with other EU rules, aim to achieve a fair and level playing field for digital services providers operating both across Europe, and globally.
