Taking place at Bellevue Palace&nbsp;on 17 August 2020, the kick-off conference was a high-level and well-attended event. Angelica Fernandez was selected as a rapporteur for one of the 4 expert working groups, which presented key outcomes of the discussions to the President.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I am excited about this great opportunity to connect research with political impact\u201d, says Fernandez, \u201cit is amazing that the&nbsp;HIIG has made it possible for an international interdisciplinary group to work under these circumstances\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PhD supervisor <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/fdef\/departement_droit\/people\/mark_cole\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Prof. Mark Cole<\/a> also commented on this opportunity, \u201cIt is a remarkable step that Angelica was selected for this already after her first year as PhD student and underlines the relevance of her own AI-related PhD research theme\u201d.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;project continues with a&nbsp;research sprint. It&nbsp;is a unique opportunity for scholars to create political impact and join an interdisciplinary scientific community working on the pressing issues related to platform governance.
