{"id":563,"date":"2020-04-23T07:48:03","date_gmt":"2020-04-23T07:48:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/website.prod.unilu.spikeseed.cloud\/fdef-en\/news\/indigo-project-to-receive-over-e1-4m-for-digitisation-research\/"},"modified":"2020-04-23T07:48:03","modified_gmt":"2020-04-23T07:48:03","slug":"indigo-project-to-receive-over-e1-4m-for-digitisation-research","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/news\/indigo-project-to-receive-over-e1-4m-for-digitisation-research\/","title":{"rendered":"INDIGO project to receive over \u20ac1.4m for digitisation research"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\"><p>Professor Herwig Hofmann has been awarded a large research grant to conduct a three-year multi-disciplinary research project on impact of digitalisation on multi-jurisdictional implementation of policies in Europe.<\/p><p>The project \u2018INformation in the EU\u2019s DIgitalised GOvernance\u2019 (INDIGO) is conducted in cooperation with professors from the University of Helsinki in Finland, University of Freiburg and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany and the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.\u00a0<\/p><p>Financing was awarded by a consortium of national research funding agencies in Europe (NORFACE). The project underwent a gruelling two-phase selection process leaving the external reviewers particularly impressed by the excellence of the scholars and their research-history.<\/p><p>The project\u2019s leader, <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/fdef\/departement_droit\/people\/herwig_hofmann\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Herwig Hofmann<\/a> is Professor of European and Transnational Public Law and Head of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/fdef\/departement_droit\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Law<\/a> at the University of Luxembourg. He is one of the founding professors of the Faculty of Law Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg and has recently also been granted FNR funding for a large Doctoral Training Unit on Digitalisation, Innovation and Law (DILLAN) to be hosted at the Department of Law.<\/p><p>The project is set to begin in Autumn 2020.\u00a0<\/p><p>Prof. Hofmann commented, \u201cI am delighted to announce this wonderful news and work with my colleagues here in Luxembourg as well as in Spain, Finland and Germany. Our work is especially pertinent in these challenging times of government and governance with European and global dimensions.
