The University of Luxembourg organizes a PhD workshop on 12 and 13 November 2026, to offer PhD candidates an opportunity to present papers related to the research objectives of the Doctoral Training Unit on the Green and Digital Transitions in the Single Market (DTU GREITMA).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DTU GREITMA is funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) and brings together 13 PhD candidates. It aims to reflect on the societal, ecological and economic challenges that the Single Market faces in its ongoing integration process from three different perspectives: the transformative effect of the green and digital transitions on the Single Market, including its external dimension and the EU\u2019s strategic autonomy ; the use of the Single Market\u2019s mechanisms to regulate a data-driven society adapted to sustainability challenges; and the enforcement mechanisms to effectively apply and facilitate the green and digital transitions in a multi-level system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PhD workshop will provide an ideal forum for selected doctoral candidates<\/strong> to share their work-in-progress and receive feedback from leading experts, scholars and enthusiastic peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We welcome submissions in the broad field of European Union law and governance<\/strong> which align with the overarching theme of the DTU. Applicants can therefore decide to zoom in on specific aspects of the current pivotal shifts in digitalisation and sustainability<\/strong>. Interdisciplinary methodological approaches are welcome and encouraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants will have 15 minutes to present their research, followed by panel discussions and feedback from expert discussants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nHow to submit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Interested applicants should submit a short abstract<\/strong> (maximum of 500 words) together with a CV<\/strong> to greitmaconference@uni.lu<\/a> by the 1st of July 2026<\/strong>. Those selected to present their work will be informed by 30 July 2026 and will be expected to send a fully drafted version of their papers (approx. 5000 words) by 15 October 2026. The papers will be shared with discussants for preparation purposes ahead of the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scientific committee \u2013 comprising Professors Mark Cole, Eleftheria Neframi, Stanislaw Tosza, and postdoctoral researchers L\u00e9o Gargne and Lucas Henrique Muniz da Concei\u00e7\u00e3o \u2013 will consider the selected papers for publication in the University of Luxembourg Law Research Paper Series and in the Luxembourg Centre for European Law Research Paper Series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travel and accommodation for one night will be reimbursed. The workshop is funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) and the Doctoral School of Law of the University of Luxembourg.<\/p>\n\n\n
