Congratulations to our PhD graduate, Dr. Felix Stips, whose thesis received an honourable mention for the ANDESE Thesis Prize 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This prize is an annual award presented by the Association Nationale des Docteurs \u00e8s Sciences \u00c9conomiques et en Sciences de Gestion <\/em>(ANDESE<\/a>) to honour outstanding doctoral research in economics and management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Felix Stips defended his thesis<\/a> on 10 December 2024 and was supervised by Dr. Bertrand Verheyden (LISER). His thesis “Essays in the Economics of Human Mobility and Labor Markets” examines the interaction between migration, institutions, and labour markets. It examines the interaction between migration, institutions, and labour markets. It studies how human mobility affects employment, wages, firm behaviour, and cross-border movements, combining theoretical and empirical approaches. The thesis uses a broad set of methods, including causal inference, laboratory experiments, and machine learning, and draws on diverse data sources such as administrative records, survey data, and digital trace data from social media.<\/p>\n\n\n

The research was conducted within the Analysis of Cross-Border Human Mobility (ACROSS) doctoral training unit and was supported by Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER)<\/a> and the  Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR)<\/a> under grant PRIDE19\/14302992.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
