{"id":22752,"date":"2025-12-12T13:24:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T12:24:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=22752"},"modified":"2025-12-12T13:24:14","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T12:24:14","slug":"a-forum-for-early-career-researchers-in-law","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/news\/a-forum-for-early-career-researchers-in-law\/","title":{"rendered":"A forum for early career researchers in Law"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\">\n<p>On 8-9 December 2025, the postdoctoral community at the Department of Law of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg (FDEF) hosted \u00a0<strong>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/events\/methods-in-legal-discipline-post-doctoral-insights-across-research-fields\/\">Methods in Legal Discipline: Post-Doctoral Insights Across Research Fields<\/a>\u201d<\/strong>, a workshop organised by postdoctoral researcher representative, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/people\/tamar-khuchua\/\">Dr. Tamar\u00a0Khuchua<\/a>\u00a0and deputy representative <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/people\/salome-lannier\/\">Dr. Salom\u00e9 Lannier<\/a>, with support from the FDEF research committee.\u00a0 \u00a0<br><em><br><\/em>Across two days, postdoctoral researchers from diverse legal fields \u2013 private law, criminal law, labour law, intellectual property, international law, legal theory, and law &amp; tech \u2013 came together to present and discuss how methodological choices shape contemporary legal scholarship. Dedicated commentators for each panel, coming from all over Europe, discussed the work of the presenters.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop opened with a keynote by\u00a0Professor Hans-Wolfgang Micklitz, whose reflections on European integration, legal scholarship, and the relationship between law and society set a thought-provoking tone for the discussions that followed in the four panels: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"ulux-list\">\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">Comparing and working across legal analytical frameworks; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">Making sense of evolving Technologies Across Legal Disciplines; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">Rethinking Desk-Based Research\u201d From Written Law to Empirical Analysis; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">Shedding Light on Public Policies through Legal Research.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-quote-people\">\n    <div class=\"quote-people\" role=\"group\">\n        <figure class=\"quote-people__body\">\n            <blockquote class=\"quote-people__blockquote\">\n    <span class=\"quote-people__quote\">\u201f<\/span>\n    The speakers and the participants of the workshop enriched their understanding of various methodological choices applied across legal fields, useful for day-to-day research.\u00a0\u201d\n<\/blockquote>\n<div
