Teams of three to five students, supported by a faculty advisor, compete against leading universities worldwide by defining market assumptions, developing return-driven equity strategies, and executing trades through the Bloomberg Terminal within a closed trading environment. Performance is evaluated using time-weighted relative return against the Bloomberg World Large, Mid &amp; Small Cap Price Return Index (WLS Index).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Luxembourg team &#8211; Hesam Abbasi (Team Captain), Bita Sabahi, Ahmad Fadavi and Fatemeh Kafimousavi Najafabadi \u2013 supported by Doctoral Researcher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/people\/ali-atabaigialami\/\">Ali Atabaigialami<\/a>, distinguished themselves through a systematic and data-driven approach. Over the four-week competition, they implemented a multi-stage screening methodology, beginning with high-beta securities (\u03b2 between 2 and 6). They further incorporated risk-adjusted performance criteria, evaluating volatility patterns, drawdown behaviour, relative strength across comparable assets, momentum confirmation and early price-action signals that indicated potential breakout behaviour.
