On 14 November 2025, the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) hosted a dedicated event for Master in European law students, bringing together leading legal-industry firms, HR professionals and alumni to provide insights into career paths, recruitment practices and sector-specific expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of key practice areas, from capital markets and banking to investment funds, IP\/IT law, and financial crime work and explore careers within leading law firms and European institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Linklaters opened the day with a session led by Partner Melinda Perera, Managing Associate Mariusz Wiese, an alumnus of the Master en Droit des fonds d\u2019investissement<\/a>, Associate Oc\u00e9ane Jacquet, an alumna of the Master en Droit bancaire et financier europ\u00e9en<\/a>, and HR representatives. They introduced students to the firm\u2019s culture and the steps needed to build strong applications and professional profiles. In the parallel session, Deloitte delivered a presentation by Financial Crime Analyst and alumnus Federico Merlin Casarini<\/a>, who introduced students to the firm and shared his experience in financial criminal law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the mid-day sessions, Arendt & Medernach and Arendt Investor Services presented to several Master tracks. Their legal practitioners gave students a concrete look at the daily reality of one of Luxembourg\u2019s leading firms, the practice areas that shape their work and the skills needed to progress in a demanding legal environment.<\/p>\n\n\n

After lunch, NautaDutilh welcomed students for a session introducing the firm, its career paths and the opportunities available to young lawyers. Senior Associate Ottavio Covolo, an alumnus of the Master in Space, Communication and Media Law<\/a>, and Partner Meliha Dacic, an alumna of the Master en Droit bancaire et financier europ\u00e9en<\/a>, returned to campus to share their experience. They were joined by HR representative Coralie Gablin. Their presentation showed how technical legal knowledge connects with day-to-day client needs, and their personal career journeys resonated strongly with the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day closed with the institutional perspective offered by the Court of Justice of the European Union. Paola Saba, Head of HR, spoke alongside alumnus Valentin Badert, a graduate of the Bachelor en Droit<\/a>. Together, they outlined recruitment pathways within the EU\u2019s judicial institutions and gave students a clear understanding of the opportunities available in the public sector.<\/p>\n\n\n

Throughout the day, students gained insights from leading legal experts and European institutions, learned about internship profiles, took part in discussions on applications and career development and strengthened their professional network. They particularly valued the chance to ask practical questions, hear first-hand the journeys of alumni and engage with professionals across sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nA second event on 21 November <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One week later, on 21 November, FDEF continued this effort by hosting a follow-up event featuring a practical workshop and targeted employer sessions for Master\u2019s students. The day opened with the CV writing workshop delivered by Vialegis and led by Pauline Jacquemin, alumna of the Bachelor en droit<\/a>, who provided clear guidance on how to strengthen CVs and approach employers in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loyens & Loeff was represented by alumnus Diogo Dias, Senior Associate Corporate and graduate of the Master en droit<\/a>, who spoke about career opportunities and the firm\u2019s expectations for future applicants. The Maples Group followed with presentations led by Fanny Denoel, Senior Associate in Finance and also an alumnus of the Master en droit, together with his colleagues, offering students an overview of legal work in investment funds, corporate and banking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Luxembourg Army concluded the day by presenting career possibilities in the public sector and civil service, encouraging students interested in roles built on commitment and integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n

This second event day built on the first by offering more practical tools to support students as they prepare for internships and future roles. Together, the two November events helped bridge academic studies with the realities of the legal profession, giving Master\u2019s students the insight and confidence they need as they move forward in their studies and future careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the day concluded, Nad\u00e8ge MEYER-HAMY<\/a>, Counsellor Internships, Career and Industry relations at FDEF and events organiser, expressed her gratitude to all the partners and students for their participation, saying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
