font-family: &quot;object-fit: cover; object-position: 50.00% 50.00%;&quot;; aspect-ratio: 16\/9; object-fit: cover; width: 100%;\"\n        loading=\"lazy\"\n\/>            <p class=\"wp-block-dev4-reusable-blocks-image-caption\">\n            Gaurav TOOR, a postdoctoral researcher, asked if the Commissioner will create any policies to encourage European small businesses to invest abroad, especially in Africa, to offset carbon emissions and create a market for products.         <\/p>\n    <\/figure><\/li>        <\/ul>\n\n        <!-- Swiper pagination -->\n        <div class=\"swiper-pagination\">\n            <div class=\"swiper-pagination__bullets\"><\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<p><strong>A visit framed by strategy, legacy and urgency <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Marie-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Jobin, Vice-Rector for Partnerships and International Relations, officially welcomed the Commissioner and the students, drawing attention to the University\u2019s role as an agent for advancing strategic priorities in the field of finance, both within the country and beyond its borders. \u201cWe educate investors and regulators, support innovation, inform policy, and connect institutions and citizens,\u201d Prof. Jobin stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Setting the tone of her introductory speech and reminding the students that EU policy is far from an abstract notion, Commissioner Albuquerque opened by telling the group, \u201cWhatever we are building today, it is for your generation to benefit from.\u201d She went on to speak about the overarching goal of ensuring that every company and citizen in the EU has access to the same opportunities, no matter where they are located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Commissioner Albuquerque, Europe must \u201cfollow innovation, become more competitive, and have the resources to deal with evolving priorities.\u201d She emphasised the importance of ensuring that Europe has the scale, depth, and liquidity in its markets to make them efficient, keeping money in Europe while also attracting capital for investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She acknowledged a certain risk adversity\u00a0among the older generation in the EU, in contrast to other regions, contrasting this with the students\u2019 more dynamic outlook.
