Last week, team of students from the Master in Space, Communication and Media Law<\/a> – Ana Valentina Garc\u00eda Zambrano, Jos\u00e9phine Leclercq, and Ulisse Saverio Bassi – coached by Dr. Sandra Schmitz-Berndt and Doctoral Researcher Donatella Casaburo, participated in the European Rounds of the Monroe E Price Media Law Moot Court Competition<\/a> in Paris. After three challenging but enriching rounds, the team qualified with outstanding results for the International Rounds of the competition, which will be held in Oxford in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition has been organized by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, since 2017. It aims to foster interest in freedom of expression issues and explore the role of media and information technologies in societies worldwide. In addition, it challenges students to engage in comparative research of legal standards at the national, regional and international levels. <\/p>\n\n\n

Currently, the competition consists of six Regional Rounds – South Asia, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and the Americas – and the selective International Rounds held in Oxford. Participants come from diverse countries, including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Lebanon, the Philippines, the UK, the USA, and, for the first time, Luxembourg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team expresses their gratitude to Professor Mark D.
