The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg is happy to announce the nomination of Prof. Dirk A. Zetzsche<\/a> as Head of its Department of Law<\/a>. Prof. Zetzsche replaces Prof. Herwig Hofmann<\/a> who has held the position since 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Zetzsche is a full professor and holds the ADA Chair in Financial Law (Inclusive Finance)<\/a> at the University of Luxembourg. He holds a doctoral degree from the University of D\u00fcsseldorf, an LL.M. from the University of Toronto and a habilitation from the University of D\u00fcsseldorf. His main research interests lie in inclusive and sustainable finance, Financial Technologies (FinTech) and Regulatory Technologies (RegTech), investment funds, corporate governance and cross-border financial services. By several metrics, Prof. Zetzsche is ranked among the top 10 law scholars globally in his field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Zetzsche is also a member of several expert groups including the Consultative Working Group (CWG) on Investment Management by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA)<\/a>, the Financial Access Survey Advisory Group of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Crypto-Assets Task Force <\/a>which advises the European Systemic Risk Board, hosted by the European Central Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
