The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg congratulate\u00a0Mr.\u00a0Thomas von Danwitz\u00a0on his\u00a0election as\u00a0Vice-President, Mr.\u00a0Maciej Szpunar\u00a0on his re-election as\u00a0First Advocate General, and\u00a0Mr.\u00a0Koen Lenaerts\u00a0on his re-election\u00a0as President\u00a0of the Court of Justice of the European Union. Their 3-year terms will run from October 2024 until October 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judge Lenaerts and AG Szpunar both maintain ties with the University of Luxembourg.\u00a0Over the years, Judge Lenaerts and AG Szpunar have graciously participated in several PhD examination committees alongside Department of Law professors. First AG Szpunar has also been a keynote speaker\u00a0and chair\u00a0at conferences organised by the FDEF Department of Law<\/a> as well as the LCEL<\/a>, sharing his experience notably in the domain of Intellectual Property Law\u00a0as well as EU Procedural Law.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wish all gentlemen much success during their terms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
