Alongside Principal Investigator Conchita D\u2019Ambrosio and other researchers from the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, four professors from the FDEF\u2019s Department of Economics and Management, Vincent Anesi, Andreas Irmen, Pierre M. Picard and Skerdilajda Zanaj will collaborate to train social scientists interested in the quantitative analyses of the causes and consequences of Economic Insecurity for individual\u2019s lives and society at large, as well as the understanding of the role that public policies play in mitigating or amplifying its size and impacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DTU, funded by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fnr.lu\/funding-instruments\/pride\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FNR\u2019s PRIDE instrument<\/a>, will assemble a total of 14 doctoral researcher positions, with four of these positions hosted within the FDEF. The students will benefit from the transdisciplinary nature of the project which brings together fields of economics, social sciences and cognitive and behavioural sciences to advance our understanding the role that Economic Insecurity plays in our society. Through developing a way to measure insecurity, examining the consequences of economic insecurity, finding its root causes and lastly, investigating public policy measures to moderate negative effects, doctoral students will develop skills necessary for carrying out PhD-level research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Recruitment of doctoral candidates is ongoing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DTU is set to launch in November 2024.
