This model allows us to study the extent to which these factors contribute to the transition opportunity and the abatement activity. We find that lower-cost abatement technologies and high-growth market environment are only favorable conditions for enterprises to engage in transition, not necessary conditions. Moderately activating market and increasing abatement burden constitute the main driving force behind it. We also find the discount level and technological progress combined determine the actual rate of return for emission reduction. When this rate is higher (lower) than the market growth level, the decision to reduce emissions results in a non-equal increase (decrease). In addition, economic activities during the carbon peak period can perform a significant impact on the deployment of abatement capital so as to appear abrupt behavior at certain key time point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Jianxin Guo:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jianxin Guo<strong> <\/strong>is an associate researcher at the Institute of Science and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The main research areas are complex system modeling and simulation, environmental economic, technology operation and management. He has hosted a number of key funds at the national level in China and has published a series of theoretical and methodological papers in well-known journals in environment, energy, and engineering related fields more than 40 articles in international SCI\/SSCI journals such as &#8220;European Journal of Operational Research&#8221;, &#8220;Computer Aided Design&#8221;, &#8220;IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering&#8221;, &#8220;Renewable Energy&#8221;, &#8220;Technological Forecasting and Social Change&#8221;. He has also been invited to serve as reviewer for more than ten important journals. As the main completion person, he submitted multiple policy consultation reports to central and local government departments and received instructions from many national leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Language:<\/strong> English<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a free seminar.
