Dean Acheson Legal Scholar Program
Participants of the Dean Acheson Legal Scholar Program can combine their internship at the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) with obtaining a Master in European Union Law and Litigation at the University of Luxembourg.
The Dean Acheson Legal Scholar Program is coordinated through the US Embassy to Luxembourg. It offers students and recent graduates from leading US law schools a clerkship opportunity with one of the CJEU judges in the form of a 3-6 month internship.
Dean Acheson scholars can apply to be admitted to the Master in European Union Law and Litigation and combine their period at the CJEU with being enrolled at the University of Luxembourg as a student. The programme of the Master in European Union Law and Litigation includes specialised training in European law, a 2–6-month internship, as well as the possibility of participating in specialised language training. Upon successfully completing the programme, participants will obtain a Master’s degree from the University of Luxembourg. Enrolled Dean Acheson students have a regular student status with all associated benefits and are, like Luxembourg and European students, not subject to tuition fees (with the exception of the enrolment fee).
