Following the recent European Final of the 2025–2026 European Law Moot Court Competition (ELMC) the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) is proud to highlight the achievements of its students throughout this prestigious competition.

Strong performance at the Lille Regional Final

From 5 to 7 February 2026, the ELMC team from the FDEF at the University of Luxembourg participated in the ELMC Lille Regional Final held at the Université Catholique de Lille, France.

The ELMC is widely recognised as one of the most prestigious and demanding moot court competitions in European Union law, bringing together students from leading universities across Europe and beyond. It consists of a qualifying written phase, regional oral finals and culminates each year in the European Final at the CJEU, where the top international University teams and individual award recipients present their arguments before members of the CJEU.

Our team – Lucie Chen, Tatiana Ferreira Flores and Tuğçe Kazancı Kurt – was coached by Doctoral Researcher Iris Nil Tolgonay. Following months of intensive preparation, drafting written pleadings and refining oral advocacy, they delivered impressive performances throughout the oral rounds. Their legal analysis, advocacy skills and teamwork were highly commended by panels composed of distinguished judges, academics and legal practitioners.
