Business and academia have joined forces, launching an online tool mapping Luxembourg’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem to make life easier for budding entrepreneurs. Developed jointly by the House of Entrepreneurship and the University’s “Luxembourg Observatory of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (LOEI)“, the tool fills a gap by offering a way to guide entrepreneurs and student-entrepreneurs through Luxembourg’s complicated maze of entrepreneur-focused resources.

An ongoing tool for education, research and economic activity

“This tool bridges the gap between theory and practice and offers our students a real-world view on the local landscape where many want to build and develop their projects,” explains Prof. Mickaël Géraudel, Chairholder in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Luxembourg. With access to the beta version, this year’s cohort was already able to grasp the ecosystem’s structure and engage with relevant actors to support their diverse projects.

Specially designed to keep pace with new initiatives and shifts within the ecosystem, it is also a valuable tool for researchers by allowing deeper analysis of development trends and emerging needs. Beyond academia, the map is designed to support both local and international entrepreneurs across various industries and stages of growth, from ideation all the way to launch.

With this innovative and user-friendly instrument, the University combines its teaching, research and outreach missions, and underlines its commitment to Luxembourg’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. In addition to the Chair and the Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the University’s Incubator & Entrepreneurship Programme offers students, staff and researchers various training, mentoring and networking opportunities. It collaborates with co-founders, experts and investors to support aspiring start-ups and spin-offs.

Structuring the maze

The map offers a complete and user-friendly overview of complex network for all stakeholders of Luxembourg entrepreneurship: aspiring and current entrepreneurs, investors, trade and industry partners, and other national and international interested parties.

Users can discover opportunities and connections in the Luxembourg entrepreneurial ecosystem through transversal functionalities. The map is configured to offer a view according to entrepreneurial stages (Launch&Grow; Test&Plan; Ideate), but users can also simplify the overview by selecting entrepreneur-focused resources (R&D, incubation, financing, international, commerce…) or by filtering through topics or keywords. Finally, each button for an activity or actor opens explanations, contacts or associated keywords to encourage users to keep exploring.

“This map empowers entrepreneurs with a clear, accessible overview of the ecosystem, helping them connect with the right support at the right time. It reflects our ongoing commitment to making entrepreneurship in Luxembourg more navigable, collaborative, and impactful,” adds Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce Director Entrepreneurship, Stéphanie Damgé.

The interactive map is now available on the Luxembourg Observatory of Entrepreneurship and Innovation website. Click on the button “Ecosystems” under the “Tools” section and start exploring now!
