DESCRIPTION:A Free Speech Dialogue between the US and Europe\n\nAbstract\n\nThis bi-lingual (German/English) Dialogue between a former German Constitutional Court Judge and a renowned First Amendment Scholar from the US shall shed light on why these differences persist and what we can learn about a current or future regulation – or non-regulation – of online platforms. The discussion will be guided especially by the question whether “lies” deserve protection or whether harms and risks necessitate restrictions in the online context.\n\nThe Dialogue will start with a presentation from both perspectives and will then continue with a conversation between the moderators and speakers. There will also be room for discussion with the audience.\n\nProgramme\n\nLanguages\n\nEnglish and German.\n\nThis is a free event.
