\nProof of Language Skills<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

All applicants must demonstrate the required level of competence in all teaching languages of their chosen programme at the University of Luxembourg. The required language skills for each programme are listed on the dedicated programme web page<\/a>, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)<\/a>. If multiple languages are listed on the programme web page, this indicates that the programme is multilingual, and applicants must provide proof of competence in all listed languages, unless stated otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants must demonstrate their language skills in one or more of the following ways:<\/p>\n\n\n

Luxembourg Secondary School Leaving Certificate issued by the Ministry of National Education<\/strong><\/td>– The certificate was obtained less than 5 years ago.

– The main language(s) of instruction of the certificate correspond to the language(s) of instruction of the chosen programme.

– The certificate must be accompanied by transcripts from the last 3 years of secondary education.

– The certificate must be accompanied by the language table, if available at the time of application. Depending on the programme, specific requirements regarding the number of years of instruction in a language may apply.<\/td><\/tr>
Luxembourg Secondary School Leaving Certificate not issued by the Ministry of National Education<\/strong>
(e.g. International Baccalaureate, Cambridge A-levels, Lyc\u00e9e Vauban, etc.)<\/em><\/td>		– The certificate was obtained less than 2 years ago.

– The main language of instruction of the certificate corresponds to one of the languages of instruction of the chosen programme.

– The certificate must be accompanied by transcripts from the last 3 years of secondary education.<\/td><\/tr>
Secondary School Leaving Certificate <\/strong>
obtained outside Luxembourg<\/strong><\/td>		– The certificate was obtained less than 2 years ago.

– The main language of instruction of the certificate corresponds to one of the languages of instruction of the chosen programme.

– The certificate must be accompanied by transcripts from the last 3 years of secondary education.<\/td><\/tr>
Language Certificate accepted by the University of Luxembourg<\/a><\/strong><\/td>– The certificate was obtained less than 2 years ago.
– The certificate is accepted by the University of Luxembourg.
– All four language skills are assessed.
– The required language level is achieved.
– The authenticity of the certificate must be verifiable through the issuing institution\u2019s official verification platform.

Note<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the review of your application, the Admissions Office reserves the right to request additional information regarding your language proficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Study programmes may have specific prerequisites about language test certificates and minimum levels. For more details, please refer to the dedicated web page for each study programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants who do not meet the required language level for all teaching languages before the application deadline are not eligible for admission in that application cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special Cases<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students from a country with two official administrative languages, who have completed their entire schooling in one of these languages, are not required to provide a certificate for that language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, if the second language is also required for admission to one of our programmes, a language certificate for that language will be necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n

\nLanguage certificates accepted by the University of Luxembourg<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A certificate is only accepted if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • It appears on the list of tests accepted by the University of Luxembourg,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • it was issued within the last 2 years,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • all four language skills (reading, listening, writing, speaking) have been assessed,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • the required language level has been achieved,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • the authenticity of the certificate must be verifiable through the issuing institution\u2019s official verification platform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Note: Language tests not listed, such as Duolingo, are not accepted.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
