Ultimately, this work will contribute to the establishment of dietary guidelines for patients undergoing anti-cancer treatments.\u00a0<\/p><p>This is a new promising area in oncology research and clinical trials are still very rare. Therefore, this study will be crucial in establishing meaningful collaborations between clinicians, researchers and industry.\u00a0<\/p><p>The joint project, named PREImuno2, is co-funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) through a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fnr.lu\/results-2022-1-bridges-call\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">BRIDGES programme<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p><p>The project leader, <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/recherche\/fstm\/dlsm\/people\/elisabeth_letellier\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr Elisabeth Letellier<\/a>, head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/recherche\/fstm\/dlsm\/research_areas\/molecular_disease_mechanisms\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Molecular Disease Mechanisms group<\/a>, part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/recherche\/fstm\/dlsm\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Life Sciences and Medicine<\/a>, at the Faculty of Sciences, Technology and Medicine, has developed a renowned expertise in host-microbiome interactions in cancer. In the frame of this project and with her team, she will focus on studying the effect of fibre supplementation in humanised microbiome cancer mouse models under immunotherapy treatment.
