{"id":8378,"date":"2022-03-11T13:14:59","date_gmt":"2022-03-11T13:14:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/website.prod.unilu.spikeseed.cloud\/en\/news\/university-participates-in-the-chercheurs-a-lecole-2022-programme\/"},"modified":"2024-03-25T17:13:29","modified_gmt":"2024-03-25T16:13:29","slug":"university-participates-in-the-chercheurs-a-lecole-2022-programme","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/news\/university-participates-in-the-chercheurs-a-lecole-2022-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"University participates in the  \u201cChercheurs \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00c9cole&#8221; 2022 Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\">\n<p>The University of Luxembourg participates in the 2022 edition of &#8220;Chercheurs \u00e0 l&#8217;Ecole\u201d&nbsp;taking place this year from Monday 14 to Friday 18 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organised by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), \u201cChercheurs \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole\u201d brings together local researchers (having obtained or preparing their PhDs) with secondary school students in the various high schools and secondary education institutions across Luxembourg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the 12<sup>th<\/sup> year, researchers of all scientific disciplines will be given a special occasion to unfold, in front of high-school students, their life experience from being a student to becoming a researcher. These personal encounters give teenagers a special opportunity to ask questions on the motivations in becoming a scientist. Researchers can share their passion with future students and bring up the challenges and opportunities of a career in research and benefit from a platform to present their work to young people and get immediate feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fnr.lu\/call-chercheurs-a-lecole-inspire-the-next-generation-of-scientists\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Read more on the 2022 edition<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"bridging-the-gap-between-school-and-university\"\n    >\nBridging the gap between school and university\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As in previous years, researchers from all the University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/facultes\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">faculties<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/centres\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">interdisciplinary centres<\/a> will actively participate in this edition and meet with high school students in various cities in Luxembourg, to share with the younger generations what motivates them in working for research in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly 50 University researchers and doctoral students have subscribed for this year\u2019s edition and are scheduled to meet the high school students in their classrooms for \u201clive\u201d exchanges on science and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This includes researchers from the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/lcsb\/scienteens_lab\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Scienteens Lab<\/a>, an extracurricular learning centre of the University of Luxembourg, intended to&nbsp;provide high-school students, from the classical and technical system, a concrete insight on sciences, technology and research. \u201cMy team and I enjoy inspiring the new generation for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) sciences.
