Nicola Schreiner, President of the Student Delegation, Master in Space, Communication & Media Law (FDEF): \u201cMy priority is to strengthen the communication with students by increasing the Student Delegation\u2019s visibility and accessibility through a higher presence on social media, establishing a closer relationship with student representatives and setting up a contact point on campus, once life and teaching returns to the campus.\u201d<\/p>

Anne Feltz, Bachelor in Philosophy (FHSE) and Aymeric Le Drezen, Bachelor in Computer Science (FSTM): \u201cConsidering the current health crisis, the issue of student life during COVID-19 requires immediate attention. In close collaboration with the Office of Student Life and the student associations, we are involved in creating new opportunities for students to participate in social activities, like the virtual Quiz Nights.\u201d<\/p>

\nAcademic Affairs<\/h3>\n

Patrick Leske, Bachelor in Engineering (FSTM): \u201cTo ensure that the academic part of student life is as best as it can be, my priority is to represent the student\u2019s academic interests in these extraordinary circumstances. Currently, the major concerns among the students relate to online classes and the upcoming exam period. Questions and concerns about the modalities of the exams are taken directly to the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, of course, and the University is preparing appropriate solutions.\u201d<\/p>

\nDoctoral candidates<\/h3>\n

Naveen Aruchamy, Doctoral Programme in Physics and Material Science \/ Specialisation in Ferroelectric materials: \u201cI represent the interests of the University\u2019s doctoral candidates within the student delegation and liaise between the doctoral candidates and the University.\u201d<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

The new student delegation builds on the work of its predecessor. It is committed to contribute to the University\u2019s success and make the experience of studying in Luxembourg unique. \u201cThe best way to do it is to be active. The University of Luxembourg is a young university with great potential, and we want to be part of creating the best student experience possible,\u201d says President Nicola Schreiner.\u00a0<\/p>

About the student delegation<\/strong><\/p>

In October 2020, the students of the University of Luxembourg elected a new student delegation which comprises students of each of the three faculties (the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine – FSTM; the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance – FDEF; and the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences – FHSE). The student delegation is responsible for informing students of decisions and activities concerning them; representing and defending the interests of the students; liaising with University bodies and entities on behalf of students; contributing to student life and supporting student initiatives in collaboration with the Office of Student Life.<\/p>

The student delegation represents the students in the central governing bodies Board of Governors, University Council, Inclusion Committee and Appeals Committee. Furthermore, the delegates are part of the Committee on Gender Equality and the Ethics Advisory Committee to provide a necessary student perspective.<\/p>
