Prof. Bordas has been on the list consecutively since 2015, Prof. Tkatchenko since 2018.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/recherche\/fstm\/doe\/members\/stephane_bordas\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">St\u00e9phane Bordas<\/a> is a full professor in computational mechanics and founding director of the doctoral programme in data and computational sciences. His research activities focus on the development of data-driven numerical methods for engineering and medicine. The multidisciplinary approach combines mathematical skills with computer science tools while taking into account needs and expectations from practitioners. Prof. Bordas has published over 130 articles in international journals and is Editor in Chief of Advances in Applied Mechanics and Associate Editor of Data Centric Engineering.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/recherche\/fstm\/dphyms\/people\/alexandre_tkatchenko\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexandre Tkatchenko<\/a> is full professor in theoretical chemical physics and Head of the Department of Physics and Materials Science (DPhyMS). His research activities focus on new methods combining physical models with machine learning to discover novel phenomena in complex molecular systems and to apply them to real-life problems. Prof. Tkatchenko has published more than 160 articles in peer-reviewed academic journals with an h-index of 63 and more than 20,000 citations to his articles.<\/p><p>\u201cThis success by St\u00e9phane Bordas and Alexandre Tkatchenko shows that research done in our departments has reached a high level of visibility and impact. It is an indication that our University is achieving excellence in science and technology,\u201d says <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/fstm\/organisation_chart\/dean\/jean_marc_schlenker\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Jean-Marc Schlenker<\/a>, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine.<\/p><p>The annual list of highly cited researchers identifies scientists who demonstrated significant influence in their fields as measured by the number of citations during the past decade.
